Hostile Work Environment and Harassment Claims: What They Are and How to Prevent Them . . . Before It’s Too Late*♦ - NEW!
Description

September 8th date no longer available. Contact training@meainfo.org or 800-662-6238.

Hostile work environment and harassment claims can arise in many contexts – sex, race, religion, nationality, for example – and can spring from many sources – co-workers, supervisors, e-mails, policies, procedures, and much more. These kinds of claims are increasing in frequency and danger. But at the same time, a workplace does not have to be a monastery. Do you understand where the lines have to be drawn? Do you know the difference between horseplay and harassment, between conduct that may produce a good laugh and conduct that may produce a good lawsuit? This seminar will help you understand what is and, just as important, what is not a hostile work environment; how to recognize potential harassment and other danger areas; and what to do about them.
Topics
  • Sexual harassment: where the law draws the line in 2010
  • Other forms of unlawful harassment: race, religion, nationality…
  • When does a workplace become a “hostile work environment”… and what to do about it
  • Hostile work environment and harassment claims in a post 9/11 world
  • Preventive strategies that really work
  • The Magic Bullet: the complaint and investigation procedure
  • Trainer
Powell Trachtman Logan Carrle & Lombardo, P.C.
