2012 PA Unemployment Contribution Rate Notice Mailing
PA Employers began receiving Unemployment Compensation Contribution Rate Notices (form UC-657) from the State of PA for calendar year
2012.
Approximately 100,000 or 40% of these rate notices contain an error that artificially increases the assigned tax rate, costing these employers AN ADDITIONAL $240
per employee per year in taxes.
Please check your rates carefully, and if your company is one of the 40%, a tax rate appeal must be filed with the State. If your rate
notice goes directly to a third party administrator or payroll company, get a copy from them ASAP to see if an appeal is in order.
