E-Verify Unavailable During Government Shutdown
Members who use E-Verify to confirm worker eligibility should be aware that E-Verify is not operational during the government shutdown. Certain E-Verify policies have been implemented to help minimize the impact of the shutdown. They are detailed on the E-Verify website.
During the shutdown, employers remain responsible for verifying employment eligibility and must still complete a Form I-9 no later than the third business day after an employee starts work.
