Stand with MEA in Our Fight Against Hunger
MEA is hosting a food drive through December 1st to support Philabundance. Please help us do our part to end hunger by bringing food donations next time you are at MEA.
On December 3rd, the MEA “Culture Crew” will deliver the collected food to 93.3 WMMR’s Preston and Steve’s Morning Show 22nd annual Camp Out for Hunger Food Drive. The week-long event is the largest single location food drive in the country, accounting for more than one third of Philabundance’s food drive donations for the year. Last year, Camp Out for Hunger brought in 1.862 million pounds of food and approximately $200,000, providing food for hundreds of thousands of children, seniors and families across the Delaware Valley.
Philabundance Donation guidelines:
- See our top 10 most needed items poster
- Donations should be non-perishable, purchased recently, and in good condition. We cannot accept glass containers.
- Due to short shelf life, please do not donate bakery items or bread.
- We prefer items that are low in sugar/sodium and free of high fructose corn syrup.
About Philabundance
Philabundance distributes about 24 million pounds of food each year to our hungry neighbors in the Delaware Valley. We are able to provide produce, meat and grocery items thanks to monetary donations, as well as by securing these items from generous food donors, including: Grocery retail (almost half of the total pounds donated to Philabundance each year), Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market and area growers (2 million pounds per year), PhilaPort (formerly The Port of Philadelphia), Farm partners, Individuals, and company-hosted food drives.
Join us to drive hunger from our communities today and to End Hunger. For Good.
