MEA recently sent out an ‘End of Year Celebration’ Survey to our Members and other local organizations to gauge how companies are planning on handling their year-end/holiday parties and celebrations. We received 123 responses that gave us excellent insight on how organizations are pivoting their usual practices due to COVID-19. Here are some of the responses and feedback we received:
Please Note: Since many questions allowed respondents to choose multiple options (i.e. dinner and gift), percentages may not add up to 100%.
Question 1: When it comes to year-end/holiday festivities, what did your company do in 2019?
47% of those who responded stated that their company provided employees with a lunch as their holiday celebration. 40% stated they had a dinner and 16% said their company sent out gifts to their employees.
Question 2: Is your company planning on doing some type of holiday celebration at the end of this year?
Out of the 123 responses, 48% of people said that their company has not decided if they will have a holiday celebration for this year. Those who said that their organization was not planning on anything, it was mostly related to COVID-19 safety concerns.
However, we had 27 responses that said their organization was planning on hosting some type of event! Due to COVID, 52% stated that they will hold a virtual celebration, which seems to quickly becoming the new normal. Other activities included…
- Individually packed lunches and gift cards
- Luncheons
- Virtual wine & beer tastings
- Sending a gift
Other ideas!
Thanks to this survey, we received some excellent ideas at how companies are planning to celebrate their employees during our new normal. Some ideas include…
